Sad News: Passing of Professor Michael O'Rourke admin 2024.02.12 4017

It is with great sadness that I inform you of the passing of our esteemed colleague and longtime friend, Professor Michael O'Rourke. He passed away yesterday (on Feb 5 2024) due to old age at St Vincent Hospital in Sydney.

Professor O'Rourke was not only a respected academic but also a dear friend to many. His contributions to vascular research have laid the foundation for our understanding in this field. As founder of the Pulse of Asia in 2009, he played a key role in advancing vascular studies in Asia and globally. His dedication and passion were evident in his final masterpiece, the 7th Edition of McDonald’s Blood Flow in Arteries, published in 2022.

His passing is a profound loss to us all. We have lost not just a brilliant mind, but also a kind and compassionate friend who touched the lives of many.

May Professor O'Rourke find peace alongside his late wife, Margaret. Let us fondly remember him and honor his legacy through our society.

Sincerely,
on behalf of the Pulse of Asia
